Construction Specialist (OnsCon)

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
– Show high regard for personal safety and safety of workmates, ensure work area is free of hazards
– Actively participate in CBI Continuous Improvement Programs and other programs which support achievement of Company and project goals
– Develop and implement standard operating procedures for construction work
– Sourcing of all construction equipment and construction aids
– The determination of project staff and labour requirements and the co-ordination of recruitment, training and induction
– The oversight of industrial relations matters to ensure all site activities are conducted in accordance with the arrangement of relevant awards and with CBI policy
– Maintain overall safety cost, schedule and quality performance of construction projects
– Actively participate in CBI’s Value Awareness Program. Encourage all employees to participate. Maintain and submit suggested improvements in writing to the Project Manager
– Ensure all employees are appropriately trained in how to perform their job in a safe manner. Ensure that all employees are provided with a safe work environment. Be aware of all relevant legislative requirements
– Develop systems and procedures to track and report on Project KPIs such as schedule, productivity, progress, costs
– To develop estimating ‘norms’ based on actual project performance
