Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Assists MOPEX offices on projects
• Has a good understanding of the other engineering departments
• Initiates interface with other disciplines to obtain input for discipline designs
• Provides engineering support as required
• Performs engineering checks of drafting
• Performs engineering checks prepared by others within discipline
• Performs design verification through single discipline check and assists with inter-discipline checks (IDC)
• Prepares MTO’s of foundations and structures
• Prepares specifications
• Prepares subcontract documents
• Review of vendor data
• Prepares technical bid evaluations
• Checks designs for operational requirements, constructability and maintainability
• Performs independently computer analyses of foundations and structures
• Prepares details and layouts of foundations and structures
• Prepares structural analyses and reports on calculations or performs specialist tasks (i.e. architectural designs, underground piping designs, complex foundations/structures, weight control reports, center of gravity reports)
• Is specialized in several fields (geo technical, steel, concrete, dynamic calculations, FEM, fatigue calculations, earthquake, blast, architectural, …)
• Is specialized in some design codes (EC, ACI/AISC/API, GOST, …)
• Prepares project engineering guides
• Coordinates and checks the work of engineers and designers
